Mayor Scott Galvin and the Woburn Board of Health will be hosting Pfizer booster clinics

UPDATED COVID-19 BOOSTER CLINIC INFORMATION

 

Mayor Scott Galvin and the Woburn Board of Health will be hosting Pfizer Booster Clinics on the following dates using the new Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine:

Thursday, September 15th & Thursday, October 13th from 4:00pm-6:00pm

 

The PFIZER Booster Clinics are limited to Woburn residents and Employees 12years+. The clinics will be held at the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street. Please note, only booster doses will be given during these clinics. Pre-registration is required. At the bottom of this page is the link for registration.

Administration of the Bivalent COVID-19 boosters can begin now that the CDC has officially endorsed this with ACIP recommendation as of Friday, September 2, 2022. This new bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine from Pfizer and Moderna will have a broader coverage to protect against the two most recent COVID strains, BA.4/BA.5.

According to the FDA Press Release,

“Individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent, if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.

 

Individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent, if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.”
