STATE DECLARES CRITICAL DROUGHT LEVEL FOR WOBURN

Five consecutive months of below-normal rainfall has led State Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Kathleen Theoharides to declare a Level 3 – Critical Drought situation in the Charles River watershed, and Woburn is tributary to the river basin.

Mayor Scott Galvin urges residents to read the State alert Drought Alert bulletin – Oct 2020 and to do what they can to conserve water and practice outdoor fire safety.  For more information on the current drought conditions, and technical guidance regarding drought management actions, please visit www.mass.gov/ma-drought-management.
